2013 Emerald City Rotary Winter Coat Drive

by Gary Fast on January 21, 2014

The winters in Seattle can be very cold, and there are many needy and homeless people in Seattle that need a coat to keep them warm. As we have done for the last few years, EC Rotary held a Winter Coat Drive in November and December 2013. Last year’s total of donated coats was 615.

And this year our club members came through in a BIG way, with over 1,500 coats collected!

All of the coats have been taken to Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission for distribution to those in need. Thanks to all of the club members and their friends, coworkers and neighbors who helped make this drive a huge success! Boxes and bins were put out in work places, condo lobbies, and local businesses. Many in our community helped to get the word out to provide needed coats.

Thank you Emerald City Rotarians for your hard work and generosity, to help those in need in our community!
