Kirk Nelson, AAA WashingtonKirk Nelson is the President and CEO of AAA Washington, a position he has held since April 1, 2011. AAA Washington is the pre-eminent provider of roadside assistance to more than one million members. Its full-service travel and insurance agencies provide products and services for members and the public.

Nelson was previously the Washington President for Qwest. He started his business career with Pacific Northwest Bell in 1979 in Seattle and held a wide range of management posts in Washington, Colorado, Utah, and Minnesota.

Nelson has served as Chairman of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Washington Business (AWB), the Community Development Roundtable (CDRT), the Seattle Sports Commission, the Seattle-King County Sports and Events Council and the Utah Manufacturers Association. He currently serves on the Executive Committees of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and the Seattle Sports Commission. He is on the Board of Trustees of AAA Washington and the Membership Business Committee (MBC) and Accreditation Commission for AAA National.

Nelson received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Pacific Lutheran University and an MBA from Seattle University.

Nelson and his wife Patty reside in Sammamish and have two grown sons.
