Mike Schwartz has been with the YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish for eighteen years, first as an Employment Specialist, then as manager of the YWCA’s homeless employment programs, and for the past eight years as Director of the YWCA’s Economic Empowerment department.  Mike directs a number of career development programs for adults with low incomes, including WorkSource Downtown Seattle, Basic Food Employment and Training, Community Jobs, the Employment and Housing Stability program, the Career Pathways Program, the BankWork$ program, the Title V Senior Community Service Employment Program, the Veterans Employment program, the King County Jobs Initiative, the Economic Resilience Initiative, and the Manufacturing Career Pathways for Women program. Mike has presented on workforce development topics at the Western Washington Regional Re-entry Conference, the Washington State Coalition for the Homeless Conference, the Basic Food Employment & Training Institute, and for King County’s WorkSource system.  He serves on the board of directors for ANEW (Apprenticeship and Non-traditional Employment for Women) and is a member of King County’s WorkSource Leadership team.
