November 22, 2016: Brian Callanan, The Seattle Channel

by Jay Leon on April 3, 2017

Brian’s career in broadcast journalism started back in 1995 and has included stops in Roseburg, Oregon, Spokane, and Seattle. From 2000-2011, Brian was a reporter and fill-in anchor for Q13 FOX News. Over his career, Callanan has won an Emmy® Award and has earned several other awards from the Society for Professional Journalists and the National Press Photographer’s Association. He’s the host of the Seattle Channel’s awardwinning public affairs programs: City Inside/Out, City Inside/Out: Council Edition and Ask the Mayor. He lives with his wife and two daughters in West Seattle, and enjoys playing music, competing in triathlons, and adventuring all over the Northwest. Callanan graduated from Berkeley, where he majored in English and mass communications. Interestingly, his predecessor at the Seattle channel was CR Douglas, who spoke to Emerald City Rotary earlier this year.
