Sept. 9, 2014: Anne Doughty, Executive Director: The Star Guild

by Gary Fast on May 31, 2014

AnnDoughtyAnn Doughty began volunteering with the Star Guild in 2007, one year after it was founded by one of her neighbors.  Ann enjoyed working the Guild’s all-girl event, the American Girl Fashion Show.  Raising two boys of her own, the show gave Ann a weekend filled with little girls dressing up, dolls, and pink everywhere.  It was the philosophy behind the show that has kept her dedicated to the Guild throughout the years: educating young girls, mainly between 6-12 years of age, how to be philanthropic in raising money for others in need, and showing them regardless of your age, you can make a difference.  In April 2013, Ann embarked upon a new career with the Star Guild. As the Executive Director, she lead her first show and successfully raised over $100,000.  To date the Star Guild has raised nearly $1.1M for Seattle Children’s Hospital Uncompensated Care.  Ann and her husband Brian currently reside in Mill Creek. She is also the President of her neighborhood HOA Board.
