Believing in the power of effective educational experiences, Stephen Streufert has dedicated his career to providing positive youth development experiences for youth, especially those that link authentic outdoor experiences with personal growth and academic development.

A decade with Outward Bound and the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) in wilderness areas from Alaska to the Everglades served as a crucible for his leadership.  His graduate degree in education further bridged theory to practice.  Streufert served as Executive Director of Salish Sea Expeditions for eight years, helping to grow and refine the program into a regional leader in hands-on science education.  In 2011, he joined NatureBridge; as Vice President of Education, he oversaw the quality and consistency of education programs for the 35,000 students attending multi-day experiences in six National Park locations.

Currently, Stephen leads development efforts for the Northwest Maritime Center, including overseeing a $7.5M campaign to launch Maritime High School in Seattle.
