Bio

Jemal Idris has been a member of the Bellevue Rotary Club in District 5030 since 2010. He served as Club President in 2023–2024 and now serves as Assistant Governor. He was recently selected as District Governor Designate (DGD) and will serve as the District Governor for the 2028–29 Rotary year, continuing his deep commitment to Rotary’s values of service, fellowship, and leadership.

Professionally, Jemal Idris is an executive consultant and international trade strategist with more than 35 years of experience advancing U.S. exports and building global partnerships across five continents. He is the founder and CEO of Washington Performance Consulting, an award-
winning firm that partners with organizations worldwide to unlock growth, strengthen leadership, and achieve measurable results. Jemal is also the recipient of the President’s “E” Award for Export Excellence, the highest recognition the U.S. government grants to individuals and organizations for contributions to expanding American exports.

Beyond Rotary, Jemal founded the Washington Muslim Alliance (WAMA), which empowers diverse communities through advocacy, collaboration, and education. He also serves on the board of Harvest Against Hunger, helping reduce food insecurity across Washington State. He has worked with leaders and organizations in more than 60 countries, and his life’s work continues to focus on fostering inclusion, community leadership, and service above self.
