Cynthia is an active Rotarian, currently a member of Seattle 4, but originally with Seattle International District club where she was one of the 13 women members admitted in 1986 before women were allowed under the RI charter.  She has served in a variety of Rotary roles in both clubs but currently she is working with the Seattle Limbe Sister City Association and the Limbe Rotary to bring clean water to facilities and  communities in Southwest Cameroon where there is a critical need.  She will discuss the results of the Limbe hospital water project Emerald City funded in 2022 and the project currently planned for the Mokindi community, as well as the political and economic conditions that drive the need.

A bank executive for much of her career, Cynthia served as Chief Operating Officer at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle and as VP of retail product development at Seafirst/Bank of America.  She later transitioned to nonprofit leadership roles and was Chief Operating Officer at the American Red Cross of Western Washington and at the Washington Women’s Foundation, as well as at other nonprofits.  She has an MBA from the University of Washington and is a graduate of Leadership Tomorrow. Cynthia currently serves on the board of the Refugee Women’s Alliance and previously served on the  boards of PeaceTrees Vietnam, Capitol Hill Housing, the Seattle Rotary Service Foundation, City University of Seattle, and the Group Health Foundation.
